Snowflake, hand dyed thread and Christmas tree

Well, this snowflake is an experiment and far away from what I would normally do. Very far away. In fact, I almost cut the last row off and started over several times. I'm glad I didn't. I like the way it turned out. I know it was a stretch to use the red that really doesn't exactly match the rose color in the Rhubarb Crisp, but it worked. For me anyway. The red and green are both DMC Cebelia size 20 and I think they set off the Rhubarb Crisp nicely. It shows up real well on the white tree too.

Speaking of hand dyed thread, I received these four skeins from Sherry today along with her book. I am so excited to get started with the thread and the book! The treads are, left to right - chocolate, grapefruit, red white & blue, and mandarin. Yummy!

The last picture is the bottom of the tree. I added branches of cranberries around the bottom and it looks gorgeous! Even DH is impressed!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Wow is right! That snowflake is an eye-popper! I'm almost finished with my Christmas to-do list, then I want to work on snowflakes, stars, angels...

Now that is what I call tatting with colour. You sure have come along way from the conservative tatter who did not use much colour. Way to go and keep those shuttles clicking pretty soon you are going to have the most gorgeous rainbow tree ever.

Everybody needs a cheering section like you guys! With this new thread, and what I have ordered from Marilee, I might have snow until July. Ahhhhh....
Merry Christmas!

Hi, Do you know if SHerry does hand dyed tatting thread anymore. If so can you email me the information. I love tatting with hand dyed threads. I have tatted with Marilee's threads too. I so love lots of color.
