We are calling this cat "Blaze" as it looks as close as I can get to Isaac's cat. He calls him Blazey, but I'm sure he prefers to be called Blaze. You know how proud cats are!
This pattern is from Inga Madsen's book "Tatted Animals." I've had the book for a while now, but this is the first pattern I have tatted from it. It is strickly a diagram pattern book with the barest minimum of written instructions. I guess I'm getting more comfortable with that as I go along.
I tatted him with the same thread I tatted Jane Eborall's giraffe. The label is long gone, but it is huge! It is two threads twisted together, almost as big as tatting with two size 10's. Blaze is about 6" tall and about 4" across the bottom. The color is a little lighter than it shows up in the scan and his eyes are green glass beads that don't show up. I think I might frame him for Isaac's room.
Now, I have some hand dyed thread of Lady Shuttle Maker's that is chocolate colors that should match one of my cats well enough. We'll find out! I also have to finish a starfish I have started.

Tattycat's tatted cat is soooo cute. I like his name.
Maybe it is my eyes, but Blaze seems like he is up to something. And the colour .... he sure is a-Blaze-d
Thanks Tattingchic and Jon. It is a perfect name for him and he is ALWAYS up to something!
Now that's a cute kitty! And, he has the purr-fect name!
I love Blaze! He looks so soft. Is he mischevious or is he just a big purring lap cat?
Thank you Diane and Sherry. I do think his name is purr-fect, but he is far from soft. I might have to look for another pattern! He is very sleek and muscular. Being the cat of a 2 year old (since Isaac was born) he has to be very wary. He likes to sit on the arm of the chair and wait for Isaac to play with him. If Isaac is ignoring him, he waits until he gets just past him and reaches out that big paw and slaps Isaac on the head! It is too funny! He likes to cuddle too when Krista sits down long enough.
Isaac's cat is just adorable. Madeline
What a wonderful cat. I really like the pattern and the colour that you chose.
So cute! Perfect name.
That thread makes him look very velvety.
Thanks Madeline, Clyde, Marilee and Pamela. I didn't particularly care for the name when Krista named him, but it is perfect. He does look velvety now that you mention it!
I've tatted several of the animals in Inga's book but not this one yet. What a Purr-ty Cat!
