I couldn't decide which background I liked better, so here are two from which to choose. The butterflies are DMC size 80 and the white is DMC size 20 Cebelia. It was a challenge to make everything fit together. I still think the space for the butterflies should have been a little bigger. I need to trim the antenna also. The butterflies are a snap to make, but I kept messing up on the snowflake part and having to cut out and redo. I finally finished it last night and blocked it.
Thanks to Emma for putting the pattern on geocities where I found it and to Karl for the scans.

I really like the "flutterflake" on the black - shows off the negative space so well - really pops. I'd love to find out where to get the pattern.
Your tatting is just lovely. Made my day!

Oh yes, this is very pretty! I'm not sure I would want to go through all the fuss of inserting all those flutters, but you did very well!
Thank you BJ and Ms. Shuttlemaker! I had wanted to do this one for a long time, and now it is DONE! That's all I'm gonna say. I got the pattern at http://www.geocities.com/emmacrew/tatting/snowflakes/flutterflake
I appreciate the praise BJ and I'm so glad I made your day!
Pretty, pretty, pretty. Shows better on black. Did you scan with the lid open to get the black background? Terri Dusenbury taught me tat trick.

Thanks Jane. My friend scanned them for me and he did leave the top open. I read that somewhere on one of the blogs. Might have been Teri's.
