I used size 10 crochet cotton because it was the only thread I had that would do for a snake. I know the colors will not be found on any snake ever known to man, but I think he is cute. I made him for my little grandson's nursery. I think I will put him in a frame with an "S" for snake. I'll probably be tatting little creatures for a long time to come. I think they will be so cute on the walls in his room.
I looked for some variagated green thread on Friday, but didn't find any in the store. I guess I'll have to order some if I want my tatted snakes to look more realistic, but I really think reality is overrated!

I love reality, but I do sooooh love gaudy as well, and that is one gaudy thread. What is it?

Hi Pamela. I'm glad you like my gaudy, scintillating little snake! He just slithered right into my heart. I wish you could have seen my grandbaby this morning when I handed it to him. He was so tickled! I have had that thread a long time, but I think I saw some like it at Michael's on Friday. I don't have the wrapper, but it's a number 10 crochet cotton. I hope you can find it.
