Presenting Rainbow Christmas Tree 2008 (in progress)

Here we go! I'm sure there will be more pictures to follow, but this will get us started. Many of you will notice your designs, hand dyed thread or a snowflake you have tatted and very generously shared with me. Thank you all so much for all of your help and encouragement. I am very pleased with me tree so far. My friend asked me last night if I had enough snowflakes. The answer is "NO." Hopefully if I can tat one or two a week until Christmas I'll have it filled up!

It's beautiful, Laura! What a precious and lovely tree. I had to laugh at your answer to your friend's query. I agree! There are NEVER enough tatted snowflakes! LOL! :)

Thanks Diane. I am so pleased with it. And, having it up lets me see how many more I need and in what colors. I think the Rainbow Bright ones are going to be so pretty on there. I have lots of other HDT's to get on there too.
Thanks Tattingchic. I hope to have it dripping with snowflakes one day. Hey, I just remembered that I will be receiving four from a very good friend to help me fill it up!
Oh, Miss Rhea. If you only knew how many hours! Come to think of it, I wish I knew how many hours! I am glad that you like it.
Thank you Sy. I was trying to photograph it in the day light hoping the snowflakes would show up more. I've got to get more color on there!
Thanks Steph. I think this will be one of those unfinished works from now on. Maybe one day I will get it filled. I just love color!
Thank you Madeline. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful works!

Wow Laura...you are so lucky to have one...that tree...I like the white tree. Makes me think of the silver metallic one we had when I was young and living at home...wish I had that tree now...and did anybody also notice the tatted hearts under the tree. You should make all kinds of Hoilday ornaments and leave your tree out all year long. :>)

Yes, Tattingchic. You need to tat the 4th one and I need to make more thread winders!
Thank you Sherry Celtic Dream Weaver. I take that as a high compliment indeed! I am glad that you like my tree. I reminds me of our silver tree from my childhood as well. I have long wished I had that tree. There's no telling what Mother did with it. I am tickled that you noticed the tatted hearts underneath it. You are the first to comment on that. Maybe I will make different ornaments and leave it up all year!

Laura, it is wonderful to see your rainbow tree. I had forgotten how beautiful it is.I can't wait to see it with even more decorations on it.

You are going to be leading the pack on tree decorations this year! I know you are.

With more snowflakes tatted with Pamela's Rainbow Bright HDT, it is going to be better than that last year.

Thank you Clyde. I am enjoying looking at it and planning the next snowflakes. Isaac is awestruck! He goes round and round the tree touching and telling me colors and "flower."
I hope to be leading the pack to make lots of snowflakes - rainbow or not! Maybe if we all work hard tatting snowflakes, we'll get some real snow here this year! The Rainbow Bright thread of Pamela's is perfect for the tree, as are most of the HDT's and the designs from your book work wonderfully. Thank you!

Hmmmm....I see a couple of spots for some new rainbow flakes! LOL!

I think in future you will need to buy another white tree...you know...have a pair!

LOL

I love this white tree and all the pretty snowflakes on it. Now, I want a white tree. I've just learned tatting, so maybe I could make a few snowflakes for my own tree. Is there a pattern somewhere for tatted snowflakes for a beginner like me?

Tattycat said...

Yes, there are some blank spots Sherry! I am working diligently to fill them. I'm not going for a pair right now. Maybe one day!
Sharon, welcome to my blog. I'm glad you visited and you like my tree and snowflakes. There are lots of simple snowflakes and I will search them out for you. My favorite beginner tatting book is "Tatsy" and I know it has some snowflakes and other Christmas items in it. I will find you some more patterns from the internet. If I knew at what level you are tatting, it would help. I checked your blogs and didn't see any tatting pictures. If you want to send me some, email them to lblanton2750 at charter.net. Replace the at with @ of course.
