Now that the book is published, I have Sherry's blessing to show you the doily I tested for her. This is one of the reasons I had little tatting to show in regular intervals. It is an intricate, and lovely, doily and I hope it will be treasured by one of my children one day. Please don't let the intricate look stop you from trying it. It is amazingly simple when you take it one step at a time, especially with the way
Sherry has it laid out in the book.
This doily is tatted in size 20 Flora thread. I will go back and tat it again in HDT now that I know I can do it!
Royal Diadem was an absolute joy to tat and I have been so anxious to share it with you!

It is a beauty! I can't wait to tat it. I have a custom order of silk HDT waiting to be filled just for this pattern. I want it to go on my livingroom coffee table. I also like Sherry's idea of turning it into a clock face! You've done a lovely job of it, too. That would be hard to "sit" on as far as blog posting goes! What a good secret keeper you are. :)
Laura the doily is just beautiful.
Yay! I know you've been sitting on this one for awhile...LOL..How does it feel to let the cat out of the bag!
Thank you for your contributions Lala!
Absolutely beautiful! I will take it step-by-step as you suggest... after Christmas!
Wonderful work Laura, you did an excellent job tatting the doily. It must have been real hard keeping it a secret.
Great job, Laura! My head would probably had exploded trying to keep this a secret. I'm waiting until after the Christmas rush to tat my version of it. I, too, love how Sherry laid out the book. Very clear and concise.
Beautiful! You have done a great job with a beautiful design. It looks so delicate and fragile, and it is in size 20. I can imagine it just floating away if worked in much finer thread.
Laura, your doily is truly beautiful! It must have been very difficult to keep such a fun secret.
The doily is just so beautiful, and what an honor to be the first to tat it. You've done a wonderful job!
wow! you did a fabulous job. It must have taken forever.
it is beautiful, i am not yet skilled enough, still can recognise a jewel when i see one!...sally
Wow! It's great! Love the whole look. Sherry did a great job of designing and you did her proud with the tatting. I've gotta try this one. Wow!
Hi Laura, I love your "Royal Diadem" doily!! I also proofed for Sherry and I thought since you showed yours...I would show mine which I made in size 80 thread and it is also some of Sherry's HDT.
The only thing is...Sherry didn't sign my book. Did she sign yours?
Thank you Tattingchic. It is a beautiful design and lots of fun to tat. Yes, it was very hard to "sit" on !
Thanks Madeline.
Lady Shuttle Maker this was a very hard secret to keep, but well worth it. The book is lovely and I enjoyed being a small part of it.
Thank you Diane. Taken step-by-step it is fun and easy.
Thanks Clyde. I enjoyed tatting this but it was very hard keeping the secret.
Thanks Steph. Is that why my head has been hurting so bad? LOL I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Thank you Jon. I hope to work it in finer thread one day and we will see.
Thanks Bonnie. I really wanted to brag about this one, but I had to keep quiet!
Thank you Yarnplayer. I was honored to be the first to tat it.
Thanks Tatskool. It did take a while, but most rounds went fairly quickly. It was fun!
Thanks Sally. Hang in there and one day you can tat it.
Thank you Tattrldy. Sherry did do a great job and I hope you will tat it.
Hi Sherry Celtic Dream Weaver. I can't believe you tatted it in size 80! You were very ambitious. Yours is lovely. Sherry did a great job. Yes, she did sign my book. I made it a point to insist!
