Here is my first progress photo of my first doily from my first Iris Niebach book. How's that for firstsssss? Tatting this is a challenge for me. I am having to be very careful and remember to count twice and close once!
This is size 20 Flora thread in a very soft, variegated green/white. I will tat it again in HDT after I see how it goes.

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! It's beautiful! I really think this is my favorite of Iris's doilies.
Very pretty, the soft colours will show up best on a dark background. Now that I got my hands pn Iris' doilies books, I'm so tempted to tat from the books for my coming doily exchange than to try and come up with a new design.
Looks like a great start!
I can see where this is going to be a wonderful doily. I can't wait till you finish it.
It looks great. Everytime I see one of Iris' doilies I want to try to tat one!
I think most of Iris's patterns are a challenge but they are soooooo pretty! Lovely choice of thread for this one.

I just can't wait for the books to arrive (finally ordered it together with two others - sharing the shipping). But it will come nicely for by that time I should have completed the most tedious job in my master's project.
Thank you all so much. There hasn't been much time for answering comments this weekend, (or today.) I do think this is going to be pretty and I'll scan, or photo, it on a dark background next. They are challenging, but rewarding. Aren't we lucky to have so many talented designers? Three cheers!
