Ferris Wheel Snowflake

It is, of course, the same pattern as the Winter Blend and Easter Egg. I just think I am going to have to start naming them in a better way. This one reminds me of the ferris wheel at the fair. Mother and Daddy always took us to the State Fair every year. We didn't have much money for entertainment, or anything else really, but they always saw that we got to go to the fair. My dad loved the animal exhibits very much. I guess it took him back to his childhood home in Mississippi.

Anyway, I did make a change on this one. Jon suggested that I join the 2nd and 4th rings to the 3rd ring. I do like it better. She also suggested a change in the 1st and 5th rings. I did it, but I didn't check the counts she suggested. It still looks good but would look better with 8-3-5 instead of 5-3-5. Thanks to Jon for her help.

The variegated thread on the outer rings is Fuchsia by Sherry in size 20. The other four colors are Flora size 20.

Tatting this snowflake is fun, I think, and very quick once you get into it. It is one of those automatic pilot patterns.

I hope you all enjoy it.

Such pretty colors and beautifully done. Thanks for sharing that. As soon as I am back to work I am going to have to order some of Sherry's beautiful hand-dyed threads. Wow, that sounds like a commercial...LOL

The colours look superb and you really took me back to my childhood with the ferris wheel (it does look so like it) and the annual fair in the town I grew up in.

The factories all closed down for two weeks holiday. It was called the heavy woollen district making blankets and such.

We always went to the fair and I can still tastes the candy floss (spun sugar) what a rare treat.

Wow YOur snowflake looks so very pretty Laura. I am now envious of all these colorful snowflakes that will grace your tree this year even though if it was me I would somehow have them hanging from me ceiling all year around. They would make great conversational pieces I think something so pretty as your snowflakes are.

Thank you Pamela, Sherry, Diane and Jon. I'm glad it reminded you of going to the fair too Pamela. Those were happy times, at least for we children! We called it "cotton candy." I'm glad everyone likes the name. Sherry, I have them on a table under glass where I can see them all of the time! Don't be envious, make lots of them to decorate your house! It didn't take so very long. You could do it in your spare time, right? LOL
