One Definition of a Good Friend

I knew I had a good friend in Sharon Briggs, but I guess I didn't realize how good a friend she really was. To me, one definition of a good friend is someone who does things for you that are not expected. Many times, as in this case, Sharon had no responsibility to make these hearts for me and that makes them very special. They came from HER heart.

I had tatted my first original heart and mailed off in this exchange never to see it again. Nor did I ever see any hearts from the other participants except from J.B. who felt so bad she made me a second one. (Another good friend.) Things happen to the mail sometimes.

Thank you so much Sharon. Mostly for being my friend. Secondly for all you have taught me. Thirdly for caring enough to give so much of your time and effort to replace my hearts on your own. I will never forget your kindness and this unselfish gesture.

Aren't the hearts just lovely?

That is really sweet of Sharon to make sure you got all of those lovely hearts! It looks like they are all her own design, too! They are all so pretty, too! You are much loved in the online tatting community, Laura! ((Hugs))!! :)

Wowee, that's really something. A real labour of love. They are all super but I love the pale pink lattice one at the bottom the best.

What a wonderful, priceless gift! I also agree that Sharon is incredibly generous and a real inspiration.

Sounds like you had some irreplaceable items lost in the mail - again - let's hope they eventually do turn up. Strange things happen.

Sharon is awesome as are the hearts that she made for you.

I have to say my thanks to Sharon too, for doing so much for tatters and tatting.

All the hearts are very pretty. You know, this is exactly the reason I made Sharon a snowflake after the RR I was in finished. Sharon said that she didn't deserve it. This certainly proves her wrong. We're all grateful for Sharon.

Having hosted exchanges and watched as well-deserving people, such as yourself, fail to get their part of the bargain, I know how it feels. Sharon's given you a wonderful gift, not only in the hearts, but from her own heart. Very special indeed!

You are right, Jane. Sharon does an awful lot for all of us.
Tatting Chic, it was real sweet of Sharon and the designs are beautiful. I've got to check with her to see if they are going into a book! You say I am much loved. I hope all of you know how much you are loved as well.
Diane, it was thoughful. You are right and very generous!
Lady Shuttle Maker, I promise to remember how much I am loved. Where and who are we without it?
Pamela, they are super. You are right. I love the pale pink lattice one best too!
Yarnplayer, I really had to look deep into my own heart and realize it didn't occur to me to tat more hearts for the people who didn't receive one from me. Sharon is a great example. It would be wonderful if the lost ones turned up one day! No questions asked!
Yes, Madeline, she is a good friend and I am proud of them.
Yes, Jon, Sharon is awesome and I hope she reads how many of us appreciate her so much.
That was a great idea, Jeff, to make Sharon a snowflake after the RR. You are very generous as well.
Yes, Gina, it is unfortunate to lose irreplaceable items, but things happen. Or so it seems. Sharon is a dear and I will always treasure these hearts - a gift from her heart.
Hi, Carol. Yes, Tatland is the best and we are blessed to live in this age of tatting. I am not well, but I could be MUCH worse and I am thankful to be here. Hugs to you too!
Thanks Clyde. Karma is a wonderful thing!
Hi, J.B. I have all of my special hearts, including the one you so lovingly made for me, displayed together under glass in one of my end tables. I'll have to make a picture.
