Here is Thorn from book two by Christopher Paolini. The name of the book is "Eldest." The pattern is by Karey Solomon -more or less. I had a difficult time figuring out several parts of it. If it taught me anything, it was that you have to know what you are doing and not expect to be "spoon fed" the pattern.
The beads are lovely, vintage size 11 seed beads from a little shop in Gulf Shores, Alabama. I bought them over a year ago and just now got brave enough to use them. I wish they were more visible here, but they probably need to be photographed in the sun and I just can't go out there! The thread is size 20 Lizbeth.
I know you have already seen Saphira, but I wanted to present them as I might frame them - in battle.

Beautiful! Now I'm going to have to get the third book and read it!
Very nice. I like the way you showed them fighting.
Wonderful! The two of them together summon thoughts of Merlin and magic!
BTW, the beads do show up when the pic is enlarged! They really add to the effect! Nice work, Laura!

Wow, the grouping is amazing. it will look fantastic framed.
W-O-W!!! Excellent job, Laura. The two of them together look magnificent. Mounted in a frame with flamed colored matting would really set them off.
All those lovely beads, such a lot of work, they are great
Good for you for sticking with it and figuring it out. I had a hard enough time at the tat day with Karey there to help!
Excellent!! Thorn looks great! I agree, this pair needs framed!!
Oh, I have goosebumps.
Very artistic piece.
If you hadn't noticed, enlarge the picture of Safire, look at the very end of the tail the beads seem to be glowing.

Thanks Diane. I'm almost finished listening to the third book.
Thank you Madeline. I'm glad you like them.
Thanks Tatting Chic. I think the colors look nice.
Thank you Fox. I'm glad you see the magic. That's what they do for me. I did enlarge it and you can see the beads. Thanks!
Thanks Ladytats. All I have to do is figure out how I'm going to frame them!
Thank you Steph. I like the flamed matting idea. I bet I'm going to have to stitch them to a background before I frame them so it might be a while!
Thanks Sally. I love working with the beads.
Thank you Gina. So it's not just me. Did you ever finish yours?
Thanks Carol. I hope it won't take me too long to get them framed.
Thanks you Connie. Goosebumps? Wow! I had not noticed the glowing beads at the tail until you pointed it out. Pretty cool, or is that hot? LOL
Fantastic! I like how you show them sparing.

Thank you Bonnie. I'm glad you like them that way. I do.
Hi Ladytats. I'll check out that profile thing, but I don't think my email addy is in there. It is lblanton2750 at charter dot net.
