This is the second heart I have tatted using Judith Connor's pattern (copyright 2008) and I love it! The hand dyed thread is Marilee's Pizzazz in size 50. I must say I am getting spoiled to the smaller threads. My eyes don't like it, but as long as you don't make a mistake, there isn't really a problem.
I think these are the three buttons, (10mm), my friend Madeline gave me. Each one is different which, I think, suits this thread and pattern to a tea.
Happy Tatting!
Oh, that's just lovely! Three different buttons -- who'da thought? Some of us are too regimented for that. I've got to stop marching in line and wander off-step once in a while!
ReplyDeleteI got pizzazz in 50 too but it's still in it's skein looking pretty.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get used to thin threads again and have got as far as 40 with ease, as you say ok so long as you don't make too many mistakes.
Ohhh, this is so pretty. I love the heart and I'm glad I got to see Pizzazz worked up. You did such a nice job. I just marked it as a favorite on Etsy.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty in deed. Well done.
ReplyDeleteVery very pretty. This one I will have to see in person. Madeline
ReplyDeleteOoh, thanks everybody! I enjoyed making it and the thread is a charm to work with. Yes Marty, you need to take a walk on the "wide side." You might like it! All of this behavior is very new to me. Probably the only reason I did it was because I was determined to make that heart, with that thread, with red buttons, right then!
ReplyDeleteSo wow!!! Terrific job, Laura.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Laura. I think it is only right that you use unique buttons when using HDT. The effect is very nice. Isn't the finer thread addictive?
ReplyDeletePretty pretty! I thought you might come over the the "dark side" of smaller threads....hee hee
ReplyDeleteWOW, your button heart is Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Yarnplayer, Clyde, Lady Shuttle Maker and Bonnie. I'm glad you like it. Yes, the smaller thread is almost as addictive as the HDT - almost! I have always felt this unexplainable pull toward the "dark side"!
ReplyDeleteLovely! That's all I can say. You tat so beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI love these heart and also I want to say what a lovely photo of you!
ReplyDeleteLaura, would you be kind enough to tell me where I can find that pattern? I think it's really cute and I might like to tat it someday.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jon, Omansan and Tattingchic. Praise and compliments always appreciated! I will see if I can find where I got the pattern. Several have asked. I know I printd it for free from some site. I'll just have to find it.
