This is the new white Christmas tree so far. I put the white snowflakes, or most of them, around the bottom so they would show up. I'll be tatting coloured snowflakes for a while yet!
Hi Laura, The tree looks great. The snowflakes are beautiful but I think more hand dyed thread is needed to make even more to show off on your tree. One can never have to much hand dyed thread. Anyway I think I would just decorate it with your tatting and not add any other decorations as they would distract from the snowflakes.
Thanks Snowy, Marty, Sherry, Martha, Karl, and Clyde! I am so happy with my tree and the potential of filling it up with coloured tatting! I believe it is my best present this year. I might have to keep it up all year so I can add to it and keep you all posted. Or, I could put it away, tat as many as possible and surprise everyone and myself. Nah! I think you are right, Clyde. Just the tatting! No, Snowy, they aren't trying to steal the bits. I can't believe it. They mostly sleep all day and do their best work at night so I wasn't sure what I would find this morning. As far as I can tell, everything is still in place. Happy, happy, happy!
Thank you girl who tats. I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I think it was Clyde who suggested it. I know he was the one who encouraged me to make more colourful snowflakes!
Boy that was fast. It is beautiful.. Madeline
ReplyDeleteP.S. in my last post it was and finish it and not a finish it. lol
Thanks. I am thrilled with it!
ReplyDeleteWow! that was fun spotting all the tatting in place...what do the kitties think, are they jumping up to steal bits?
ReplyDeleteIt does just cry out for all of your colored snowflakes! It's already looking really nice. I hope you are going to post progress pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you found your white tree. This is very exciting! I too can't wait to see it fill up with your exquisite snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning, so glad you thought of a white tree for these delicious colored flakes
ReplyDeleteIt's "PURTY". I hope I don't have to add a room so Madeline can get a white one. No room in the "Inn" for one, that's for sure...Karl

ReplyDeleteLaura, your tree is beautiful! Now you don't have to "dream" about a white Christmas... you'll have one!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marilee and Diane. I am so happy with my tree. Now I can SHARE a White Christmas with both of you!
ReplyDeleteHow stunning! What a neat idea to put colored snowflakes on a white tree!
